My Teaching Philosophy:
I am both an artist and trained social worker. Together, these orientations inform my ceramics practice. As a social worker, I incorporated art therapy techniques into treatment to help clients express their emotions, build resilience, and discover new ways to solve problems. With my clients, I learned the healing power of art.
In clay, I’ve found more than just a craft. Clay nurtures patience, flexibility, and mindfulness. These skills extend far beyond the wheel – for kids discovering a hobby and adults seeking a thoughtful practice.
I work with learners of all ages and skill levels. Totally new to ceramics? No problem! I also work with more experienced artists to refine techniques and explore new creative directions. I aim to share the joy of clay while offering the technical skills and supportive environment that help students grow as both makers and people.
